Our Holiday Decor: Winter Blush meets Merry & Bright

Every year, the weekend before Thanksgiving meant we would be putting up our Christmas tree because for Latinos, Thanksgiving Day is not the same without a Christmas tree! This year, we welcomed the holidays a bit earlier and our home is Merry and Bright! The holidays always make me extra merry but being a Mami and having them help me decorate the tree this year and seeing their faces when it all came together was priceless.

WINTER BLUSH TREE

White, champagne and touches of blush and pink ornaments was all we needed to create our winter blush tree. Contrary to last year when the kids idea of helping decorate the tree was taking the ornaments off the tree and running with them, this year they really did help!

PILLOWS & THROW BLANKET

Following with the winter blush theme but avoiding our place looking girly, I only added subtle touches of pink with two of the pillows and added red and a bit of green to make it a pop a bit more. For the throw blanket I went with the candy cane vibe which I feel pulled the colors in perfectly.

BOOKSHELF

For our bookshelf I mainly added white pieces and snow-covered pines but of course we couldn’t leave out our own pictures because it just adds a different feel to the whole look. Oh, and the kids favorite piece… the Christmas dinosaur snow globe paired with The Bears’ Christmas book. Argenis and I both remember reading the Berenstain Bears so reading it to our kids now is so surreal!

FIREPLACE

I wasn’t really into the whole stockings idea this year so instead I placed this cute white and gold Merry banner right over the fireplace.

KITCHEN

For the kitchen I decided to go with a more buffalo plaid look. Since we have a wooden table, I got a buffalo plaid table runner and a set of matching kitchen towels which actually look even nicer in person. Following with the sort of cabin feel I wanted for the kitchen, I got us campfire mugs which are my favorite right now! The white one is already sold out but the red Merry and Bright mug is perfect for some holiday cheer while enjoying your favorite warm drinks. To finish off the kitchen, I brought out the Rae Dunn Christmas cookie jar and dish from last year. Merry and bright without doing too much.
